how do you r&d a "smart" bed without once asking "what happens if the internet drops out"

i hate the term "smart" for these kind of devices that are unable to operate without an internet connection
a """smart""" bed that outsources its thinking to a cloud server and gets stuck in an unusable configuration when the internet drops is literally dumber than a bed with no computer in it
