So, I did the unthinkable and put a Redragon mouse on my Christmas wishlist. My dad ended up buying it for me. I had vowed to never buy Redragon shit a long time ago but from everything that I've heard they had been increasing in quality quite a lot recently. Looked up some videos of this mouse and people seemed to think it was actually pretty good.
I don't know, maybe it is for some people, but for me it just does not work at all. The shape is fucked and it REALLY forces a full palm grip from a large hand. I have a sort of half palm grip to begin with and my hands are just not that big. Some of the buttons I just flat out can't reach without drastically shifting my hand placement. My pointer finger can barely press in the scroll button.
I feel bad not enjoying something I was gifted, especially because I really should have gone with my gut and just never put it on the wishlist in the first place.
However, this led me to looking for repair methods for my G604 again. Turns out, relatively recently (like, past 8 months ish), some company has been making replacement boards with new switches already soldered in. They're like, $16. Taking apart this mouse and putting it back together seems like an absolute shit show, but it might actually be worth it to save this thing. If it ends up working, I might just give that Redragon mouse away to someone else. My roommate is still using like, a cheap as fuck two button one. Like really it feels like a McDonald's toy lol. Or I could just keep it as a backup, use it on my downstairs PC for guests or whatever.
@Hephaestic @bruh_momento I've looked into then before, the holes seem more like a liability than a feature to me xD I gotta have a good amount of side buttons too since I play an mmo. I don't want a full fucking numkey on the side though because it's just too much for me, I like the g604 because it only has six side buttons and they're all really easy to press for me. It also has infinite scrolling and left/right buttons on the scroll wheel which are surprisingly hard to find. It also doesn't have any stupid rgb.
Tl;Dr it feels the best and it has all the functionality I want, but the switches for the left and right mouse buttons are fucked. Hence why I'm hoping I can just get this replacement pcb instead of fucking around and getting used to a new mouse.
@beardalaxy@gameliberty.club You don't know how it's going to feel until you have it in your hand. When you are getting a mouse, you either have to return a lot or try them out in a store first.
My current mouse has honeycomb holes on it (Glorious Model D) and is now therefore full of cat fur. Its left click button is also held on by superglue. However, it feels nice, so I'm keeping it until it breaks. :blobcat_orangemushroom:
