it's crazy hearing from musicians who have a much bigger following than i ever will about just how little money they actually make from said music at the end of the day. they're playing shows for 300-400 people in a single city and only making a little bit of profit.
meanwhile, i have a really steady gig and have had that for the past 11 years that i have always made a pretty good profit on. it's had its ups and downs for sure, but it could literally be my job if i was able to drive to all the spots. in the past when i had more roommates to drive me places it literally was my job.
i just feel incredibly blessed to have been so lucky to get into a place like this. even if it inevitably tuckers out, and it kind of has been the past couple of years, i am just extremely grateful i was able to play for so many people and make some pretty good money doing it for as long as i have. it's a little surreal.
@bruh_momento nah everyone mentioned is unsigned. mainly venue/travel/booking fees. the only thing i really have to worry about is travel.
