@GrungeQueef get a load of this chick lmao
@GrungeQueef there are concentrated efforts to build more computing production plants in the US at the moment, they started around the time of the chip shortages. It's actually something good Biden did. They have accelerated plans to push for the plants to be done in 2027. It is not going to be "literally impossible" to build a computer in a year and even if it is somehow, the problem will be lessened by these new plants.
Plus, there is the AI bubble shit, and Nvidia's new hardware for data centers, Rubin, is going to be much better than Blackwell which is currently used. Much more efficient, way more power, should result in at least a slight increase of availability.
Also, we're forgetting about the used market here. Maybe it isn't EXTREMELY exaggerated to say that it will be impossible to build a high end computer for a decent price, but there are going to be ways to build yourself a computer until all of these places stop making consumer grade hardware and all of the old stuff stops working and can't be repaired. Considering I'm still using a 6 year old CPU and 8 year old GPU (that's scuffed af) with very, very minimal issues, I think we'll be alright.
This post is either ignorant, sensationalist, or both. Things will recover to some degree and you'll always be able to build a computer lmao.
