@flux_the_cat so he spends 4 hours being useless and scrolling social media. Wtf does he do on his days off? Bro needs to figure his shit out.
@irie @flux_the_cat then maybe he should start his day with the gym and doing some kind of hobby and then go to work and come home, do his home stuff, and go to bed. If it means waking up at 4am so be it. There are always ways around this. Most of the time people aren't tired, they are unmotivated. They're willing to accept that the way things currently are is just how it is and they're waiting for some external force to come in and change that for them.
I have friends that will come home "so tired" and do nothing but sit around and play video games they hate for 4-5 hours despite waxing poetic for years about wanting to write a book or start drawing or go to the gym. Just do like one hour a day at least. If you get stuck in that same butt fuck routine, no wonder you get so depressed.
@irie @flux_the_cat granted, I don't work full time, only ~30 hours, so I don't *fully* know what it is like, but I can guarantee you if I did I would still find time to hang out with friends/family and participate in my hobbies even if I was at work an extra 2 hours a day.
@irie @flux_the_cat I'm probably so triggered by it because a lot of my friends think exactly like this and they never actually pursue anything meaningful because of it. I KNOW it's just because they don't want to take the time to do it and shift stuff around. Like, from my experience, I don't think OP would actually do any of the stuff he mentioned if he had an extra 2 hours from a cut down commute.
@flux_the_cat @irie yeah like this dude is so tired he can't READ for 4 hours so he browses social media instead? nah he's not tired he's just aimless and unmotivated. gotta focus up and set goals and have a schedule outside of work too.
