I no longer listen to people who end sentences with "...right?" It's a not particularly subtle manipulation tactic. Once you hear it you'll start to notice it everywhere especially in politics.

@mitchconner only time I do this is when I'm making sure somebody knows what I'm talking about and I think they do but I'm not sure. "hey you know how they pick up the trash every Wednesday right?" that sort of shit

@beardalaxy I think that's a little different. People will say things like "And of course trans kids should get surgery without their parents needing to sign off...right?Andsothat'swhy"

There's a rhythm to it. It's like that button that ambulances press to make the traffic light change early. They phrase things very carefully to nudge your brain into agreement and then they RUSH TO MAKE THE NEXT POINT before you get a chance to think wait, is that right?
