I would typically say art of Stephanie is a no-go solely because the character was originally portrayed by a real child. If a character exists in fiction beforehand and was later portrayed by a child, that's fine (like Hermione Granger, or Hit Girl). I realize that line is extremely gray though so I won't really get mad at anyone for enjoying it, it's just not something I'm personally into.
I think the pedo shit in loli art needs to go, though. Far be it from me to say it should be outright illegal, but I think the community should push back against it much more and it's sad they don't just because they think strength in numbers is better than strength in resolve. Seeing any mention of child porn from an artist I follow is an immediate unfollow, MAP flags will result in vitriol, etc.
So, I had no idea that Lazy Town was actually a book first and foremost and then a stage play, in which an adult actress portrayed Stephanie. The sequel play's portrayal of her also seems to be an adult. This is moot anyway because yeah, the original story was a book that obviously has no actors at all.
This changes my perspective on the character being drawn entirely. It's pretty important context that I was missing and I apologize for that.
I can indeed be wrong sometimes. Crazy.
@Tony yeah I'm talking about people who are taking real kids and then drawing them getting fucked while talking about pedo dick or CP or whatever, not anything like actual works of art or innocent photos of naked kids in tubs or babies with angel wings on a blanket. Like I've seen art an unfortunate amount of times that just blatantly use girls who are real people who were actually abused.
@Tony i see people posting clips, i think you're the one who posts them lol. that dude in the diaper who shit his pants is still fucking hilarious to me.
@Kagekokoro @Tony i'm just talking about like tony's post, like moms take pictures/videos of their kids in the bath playing with toys and stuff.
@Tony @Kagekokoro yeah i have old VHS tapes of me and my brothers in the tub when we were kids. totally fine. very cute.
you got me watching all these old videos again now lol, my mom recorded us getting our Wii back in 2007, unwrapping it and playing and everything. i did the whole "wii would like to play" thing when i handed my brother the present xD still have that wii, actually!
I'm talking more about ethics than laws here
