I would typically say art of Stephanie is a no-go solely because the character was originally portrayed by a real child. If a character exists in fiction beforehand and was later portrayed by a child, that's fine (like Hermione Granger, or Hit Girl). I realize that line is extremely gray though so I won't really get mad at anyone for enjoying it, it's just not something I'm personally into.
I think the pedo shit in loli art needs to go, though. Far be it from me to say it should be outright illegal, but I think the community should push back against it much more and it's sad they don't just because they think strength in numbers is better than strength in resolve. Seeing any mention of child porn from an artist I follow is an immediate unfollow, MAP flags will result in vitriol, etc.
So, I had no idea that Lazy Town was actually a book first and foremost and then a stage play, in which an adult actress portrayed Stephanie. The sequel play's portrayal of her also seems to be an adult. This is moot anyway because yeah, the original story was a book that obviously has no actors at all.
This changes my perspective on the character being drawn entirely. It's pretty important context that I was missing and I apologize for that.

That being said, I actually disagree with you. I don’t think there is morally anything inherently wrong with making art of kids.
One of my favorite movies is Leon the Professional which features a young Natalie Portman. In the movie her parents are murdered by a drug dealer and Leon - the neighbor takes her in. There are some scenes in the movie where Portman comes into Leon - but she does it in a childish way, much like a real child tests/flirt with older men. (Which by the way is completely normal behavior for children growing up - they test boundaries as they develop, read something in an article, or see something on tv and as a society we’ve seen to sexualize it even when it’s literally just kids being awkward.
In the professional - it’s a small part of the plot, Leon shuts her down and it moves on. 10/10 great movie as well, amazing ending.
But to my point - there’s nothing inherently or morally wrong with making art of “children”. Are we saying that mothers can’t take photos of their kids in the bath? My mom has tons of photos of me in the bath surrounded by dinosaurs when I was like 4 - there’s nothing wrong or sexual about that in my opinion because, well she’s my mom and I was doing cute things?
The issue is with the moral panic around “men are predators therefore men around children = they must want to fuck them. Which, for most adult men is just completely wrong.
It’s so bad now that did you know if you get a girl pregnant, as the bio father, the kid is not legally yours and you have no rights to their care unless you explicitly petition the courts for it.
Like all things, I think we over corrected as a society.
But back to your point, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with people making art around the games “child” player because children, are not inherently sexual, it’s not inherently implied there is anything sexual going on, and simply having art of kids around does not imply you want to fuck them.
NOW THATS MY OPINION ON “NORMAL” ART.
Obviously a percentage of people take it too far and do make it sexual, but I’d wager it’s a small percentage of people.
I don’t know, for me it’s like CLEARLY obvious when the art goes too far.
But that being said, I just don’t think it’s inherently wrong to make art, movies, shows, or whatever that depict children. Like what? People just don’t exist until they are 25? Like come on now.
@Tony yeah I'm talking about people who are taking real kids and then drawing them getting fucked while talking about pedo dick or CP or whatever, not anything like actual works of art or innocent photos of naked kids in tubs or babies with angel wings on a blanket. Like I've seen art an unfortunate amount of times that just blatantly use girls who are real people who were actually abused.
