I have a friend who is an orthodox Christian. Vlad the Impaler got brought up and he said that what he did was "not very Christian behavior."

This is why I'm not big on religion, particularly Christianity in this particular instance. There is so much pussying around. I love Jesus but I really don't think the way is letting your enemies trample over you and just hoping that somehow truth and light will overcome. Sometimes you need to be the villain in someone else's story. Sometimes people deserve a taste of their own medicine.

You should try to give people the peaceful opportunity to see the light and to accept God's grace. To love all that is beautiful and fight against whatever is evil. If they turn it away, if they want to impose their rule on you by force, you simply cannot let them. Extending a hand is all well and good until it is chopped off, because if you can no longer extend your hand then you are useless.

There is a reason why I wear a Templar's cross, after all.

@beardalaxy
Killing tens of thousands of civilians to cow the soldiers into defeat is good, actually, when the alternative is allowing them to come and kill you.
@beardalaxy Keep in mind, I'm not a believer myself, so I'm coming at this with an outsider's perspective. However, I do know that Romania is a very religious country by European standards, and there Vlad Tepes is still very much considered a national hero. And historically, it really hasn't been the norm for Christians to interpret Christ's words as mandating pacifism, with Christian just war theory seeming like a sensible and moral middle ground between barbarism and cuckery. And of course there's been the likes of the Crusades and the Reconquista, showing that Christians didn't use to shy away from actually Fighting for what's right.

Ultimately, like all other major institutions, Christian churches have obviously been subverted, not to mention that most self-styled Christians are more influenced by cancerous Judeo-Marxist left-liberalism than by Christian morality anyway (most White "Christians" in the West seem more offended by "racism" than blasphemy for example). So I don't necessarily think Christianity should be judged by the practices of modern WEIRD Christians, even if some of what they advocate seemingly lines up with what Jesus taught.
@ChristiJunior @beardalaxy The problem is a lot of "Christians" don't actually read and understand the bible. They allow atheists to pick and choose sections of the Bible to throw in their faces and don't have the knowledge to counter it.

A lot of it hinges on Jesus' "turn the other cheek", where it's meant to tell you that minor slights and disagreements can be handled peacefully and that you'll ultimately waste your time AND look bad by participating. It is not meant to pacify righteous anger at injustices, to prevent action against those that would subvert the will of God, or forgive those that have done any of the above.

It's "Thou Shall Not Murder" not "Thou Shall Not Kill". You are told to love your enemy, you can love your enemy as a creation of God, while understanding that they do the work of Satan. You can give them the chance to return to God, while killing them if they refuse and continue their dark path. For it is a kindness to kill those that would continue evil, both to those they would harm in the future and to the person themself as perhaps they'll catch a glimpse of God's light from Hell should they not bury themselves deeper into it.

Unlike the Quran, the Bible *prefers* we answer our enemies with kindness, that we leave judgement to God. That we don't take vengeance. That we don't spread the word of God by the sword. However, the Bible also teaches that you don't just allow evil to run rampant, that we should protect ourselves and our loved ones.

Some cultures are better than others, cultures based on the teachings of Jesus Christ have created some of the best living conditions ever found on Earth. Allowing other cultures to destroy that because "b-b-b-but Jesus said to love them" is horseshit. Those people would never accept Jesus as their savior, they don't care about The Trinity. Those people are there to steal from you because your culture has produced well and teaches kindness. Their culture produces nothing and teaches exploitation. Evil cultures need to be eradicated. You can love the people and try to teach them to follow Jesus' teachings while warring against what those people choose to represent. You can kill those that would never return your kindness.

Modern Christianity is lead by people who are not Christians, and they want other non-Christians to tell you that you can't be Christian if you don't spread your cheeks for evil.
Pro Tip: With atheists, you can just make shit up. It's not like they've actually read the book, or deserve serious engagement. 😏
People caught Hegseth when he quoted the book of Tarantino.
I don’t think God cares what you do in the bedroom as long you are with your wife only and you finish in her.
Is it Christian for a leader to allow his nation to be conquered by anti-Christs who hate God and the Gospel? No!
@beardalaxy I wonder how many of Vlad Tepes' alleged atrocities were propaganda spread by his political enemies.
@noyoushutthefuckupdad @beardalaxy the forest of impaled corpses was real, but he did it for good reasons. he was a rational actor managing a weak state doing what he could to deter the Ottomans from moving north against him. maybe the extent of it was embellished over the years.
@augustus @beardalaxy I'd hate to be in a position of responsibility where I have to kill lots of people to save my people. I admit I don't have the stomach for that kind of slaughter.
@augustus impailing was the Ottoman style of the time (or the Seljuks; I forget) @noyoushutthefuckupdad @beardalaxy
You don't kill that many people without good reason usually.
my dad took me to dracula's castle when we were kids...and overlooking the field in front of the castle wall explained to me the line of people on pikes...there was no judgement just a visceral description...(years later i found out we had not in fact driven all the way to romania but were probably still in germany)...as an orthodox christian i do not praise his actions but neither do i judge someone whose path was so much different than mine...who knows what kind of monster i would have been in his position in his stead or worse had i been ineffectual...God have mercy on us all...
