i thought that this alkaline water was kind of pointless but it really does taste different, at least if you drink a lot of water.

@lain it does taste different. It also apparently helps acid reflux a lot.

@beardalaxy not bad becuase i'm starting to get issues with that from all the beer
@lain @beardalaxy acid reflux is from not having enough stomach acid, not from having too much

sparkling water with salt and either lime or lemon juice is some good stuff to drink casually regardless of acid reflux

dunno, when i get acid reflux and heartburn a glass of water with some salt shuts it down, a taco bell meal shuts it down too which i feel is fucking odd

@EdBoatConnoisseur @lain @beardalaxy yes the chloride from hydrochloric acid comes from salt, once there's enough stomach acid the flap shuts properly. thank you friend.

well back when i was 4yo i used to chew on batteries and one time ate a AA one, so idk.

acid reflux is a bitch, i get if from seemingly random foods, like if i eat beans WITHOUT cream i get acid reflux, if i eat scrambled eggs that were not saltpeppered and cooked crispy i get an outright debilitating acid reflux that leaves me with a blood aftertaste, but fucking taco bell of all things instantly shuts down my acid reflux....

regardless, what i've found helps is to just mix water with some salt, i like the non fluoridated sea salt in the coarse "kitchen" grain, when i feel real bad i just mix a spoonful of salt to a glass of water to essentially make sea water, if it comes out as too salty add some drops of lime or lemon juice, it drinks a lot easier that way.
