Watched Zootopia 2 last night and it makes me rethink my rating of the backrooms.

The backrooms is super visually interesting and I would easily watch it again just for the amazing found footage visuals. Even if the story wasn't that great. I think I would have preferred they made the story even more loose/abstract. Basically just made it a medium to justify the found footage. The backrooms was super impressive especially when you consider it was made by the actual guy who did the original videos, who's like 20 years old. They just gave him shitty writers to tie it together.

Zootopia is a fun movie, something to put on if you have kids or are babysitting family and it's fun enough for adults to watch. But it's not something I'd watch again. If it was playing in a hospital waiting room and there was literally nothing else to do I might glance over at it. But I think The Backrooms beats it out easily in that department, along with many other movies.

So, yeah The Backrooms is pretty good, very visually appealing to look at, just has a bit too much of a story trying to make this neat thing have more meaning than it needs to justify it's existance. They should have made the story much more loose cutting out any of the "meaning" they were trying to go for, made it even more fun and experimental. Just enough to lead into the found footage visuals. Once you get there the visuals, mystery and liminal eerie feeling really carries the movie all by itself.

@JustDisa I would have liked backrooms a lot more if it was focused on the research team instead of a nigga with an attitude and his retarded shrink.
