@pettanko idk man Evo did some shit years ago where there were some hot chicks with bouncy boobies talking about doa and they cut the stream and apologized so that's probably why.
@beardalaxy It's ridiculous how obsessed devs have become with esports. The competitive scene for fighting games should be ancillary to a game, not the target demographic.
I say this as someone who regulary competes in tournaments as a top 15% player and has been playing fighting games since 1992.
They're ruining my favorite 3D fighter with this BS.
@Rage_Grenade aye, it's my second favorite behind soul calibur. One of longest lasting fighting games in esports is melee and that was definitely the last thing on Nintendo's mind when they were making it lol. Most of the older ones, devs just wanted people to have a good time fighting each other on an arcade cabinet. A lot of fighting games in the 2000s had some pretty solid single player content too.
@beardalaxy It's one of those things where it's obvious fighting games were always gonna have a hardcore competitive scene, tournaments starting happening for Street Fighter 2 within a few months after it launched in arcades. The genre by its nature encourages it, however it was all built on top of what was already there. For some reason the esports side of the FGC has this obsession with being catered to and it never goes well when companies capitulate.
