:kekw: I really just saw someone complain about Touhou EoSD NC being locked to 60 FPS.
Then he immediately started promoting an AI slop mod he threw together to uncap the game's FPS :kekw:

@Ronnie21093 dude if it is the same guy i'm thinking of he sent me a message on reddit because he found a post i made 5 years ago asking about the frame rate.

@Ronnie21093 @beardalaxy And again, a desync. Despite both starting from the exact same point the higher FPS Reimu dies to a different pattern of bullets than the standard Reimu. :cirno_laugh: He doesn't get it, does he? That he's showing within his video the exact reason people don't want these patches.
@Iffine @beardalaxy These people will never understand. All they can think of is "High FPS good, low FPS bad." and disregard if a game is even meant to be played at such high FPS :cirno_heh:

@Iffine @Ronnie21093 i don't know enough about touhou to know how much randomness is involved, but i can tell that it at least seems like the bullets are traveling farther faster. or maybe that enemies are shooting them earlier.

in theory, this could be really cool. even with animation interpolation you'll get less motion blur and lower latency. it looks like it has some kinks though.

@beardalaxy @Ronnie21093 >i don't know enough about touhou to know how much randomness is involved

It depends on situation, but for the most part randomness is somewhat scarce. I'm not sure about those enemies, but the other example this guy shows off with the fairies having a desync is not acceptable. It's going to be entirely impossible to resolve every desync issue this mod would create which is quite bad for a game series that is about consistency during play and where replays are often passed around.

More than anything though, I'm just not going to listen to a guy who says "I solved it, you're welcome" to everyone who didn't ask for this, and he's never going to bother testing it properly (all difficulties, all stages, all shot types to ensure none cause issues with comparative recordings to an unmodified game). If this were a silly patch made for thcrap that was made with the explicit understanding it's for fun, then sure.
@Ronnie21093 @beardalaxy Wow, it's so smooth, clearly the smoothness is what I want and not at all a problem. Never mind the fact that in his own video there's a desync in the fairies movements between the two. :cirno_heh:

He's mad that he's getting hate when he doesn't seem to understand he's creating a problem so he can make a solution. This wasn't an issue. Nobody wanted this. But the problem he created in his mind must be solved.
