Uber can't be cheaper, since at the end of the day, the driver needs to have wage he can live on, so the market will balance itself until he can.
And the cloud is just someone else's computer, you only got an initial discount to draw you in, so big tech can steal your data.

@coded_artist @flaki Theoretically, it could be cheaper to pay just for the resources you use, instead of buying a computer which will do a lot of idling. Instead, the cloud is usually more expensive. There are other advantages that could be actually worth the price tag or use cases where it actually is cheaper but it's clearly not magically cheaper and better.
