Most Jews don't know a damn thing about all these interpretations and mysticism.
Ask a Jew about Gemara or Talmud (let alone Kabalah), and he will just shrug at you.

But the rabbis know, it's their job.
And many influential people and organizations go to rabbis for advice.
This is how the evil spreads.
