The whole AAA part of the industry has contracted because of this shit.
As for indies, a lot of them do things in-house because money is tight for them, and most just get the animations they need from Mixamo, nothing custom.
When is the last time you saw a fully animated cutscene in an indie game?
They can't justify the expense, and that level of polish it's not expected of them.
There's also AI animation already available that does crazy stuff.
But the asset stores are the ones that took most of your work.
