I played one of the wokest games ever. :pepe_fact:

Timespinner.

Makes Concord look like Angry Goy II by comparison.

First, the good part: it's a metroidvania and it copies Symphony of the Night. It cannot be overstated. It COPIES SotN to a degree you might not believe until you watch a minute or two of gameplay. The item system, the menu, the skills, the level layout. This is nothing like how A Robot Named Fight or The Mummy Demastered are heavily inspired by Super Metroid. This is like they put a coat of paint over SotN to make a different story.

Therefore, by virtue of shamelessly copying SotN, turns out the gameplay is excellent. The controls are precise and there are a few quality of life improvements over the game they are based off. The one issue I found with the game aspect is that it's rather short. Instead of the second castle, it uses a time travel mechanic to have two versions of the same map, but you traverse it very quickly. I think I finished the game in two days.

Now, it may just be that the game has more content than I found, but I have no desire to find it because... Here comes the bad part: the world and its plot.

@rasterman I played it a few years back.
It really is good in turns of gameplay.
But the trannies... dear God.
And the plot has all sorts of holes in it.
Skip all dialogue, and it's a solid 7/10.

@coded_artist Factual.

The gameplay stands.

Were there trannies? I didn't notice any. Or was it written by trannies? It struck me as a TERF game rather than a troon game. But I stopped reading the lore past 75% of the game and left a chunk of one of the maps unexplored, so I may have missed important details.

@rasterman It was years ago, so might be a bit hazy, but I'm pretty sure there was a dude with blue hair that was a tranny, female to male, and another tranny a chick with pink hair, male to female, and they get together later in the game.

@rasterman This one I think, is supposed to be a dude.
The other one, the FtM I don't remember, and it's hard to find pictures of NPCs.
It's very early in the game that you meet them.

@rasterman Found it.
It's this one.
And the guy in blue was a woman.
You only get this scene if you complete all side-quests.
And of course, they're polyamorous.

@coded_artist EW, WHAT THE FUCK. Now I'm glad I never returned to give that nigger his tools. :ragekitty:
@coded_artist @Rasterman I remember seeing this screencap a while ago, so it was from Timespinner, huh?

Guess we need to be better all around about Naming and Shaming trannyfaggot garbage.
@ChristiJunior @coded_artist I have this thing with games and movies, you see, like a trait in Fallout. "You get this good thing, but it also comes with this bad thing".

I try to learn as little as possible before starting so it's all a surprise. That's how things like me not knowing Sheik's identity happen.

I go into Ara Fell and don't even remember what genre the game was. Thought it was a platformer. Disappointment follows as I start it and realise it's an RPG; but play anyway. Turns out to be pretty good.

This shit, looks like a platformer. "It's a metroidvania, great! Wait, why am I black? Why is that man insulting my character for no reason? Are we seriously doing the evil empire cliché?"

I wish that had been the extent of the garbage. :pepedisappoint:

Now, when the product is good, not knowing anything results in maximum enjoyment. :pepesmug:

PS: happens with books too. I once bought Naked Lunch and had no idea it's a book about non-stop homosexual sex :pepe_feelsweird:
@Rasterman @coded_artist I appreciate the preference for going in blind, most of my best gaming experiences were indeed products of knowing very little about those games.

But just asking Fedi "I heard about game X, do any of you know if it has any niggers or tranny shit?" shouldn't result in major Spoilers.
@Rasterman @ChristiJunior @coded_artist As gratuitous as some of the torture-porn scenes in 'American Psycho' were (Bret Easton Ellis' sodomite hatred of attractive women is oozing from every page) . . . 'Naked Lunch' was infinitely worse

Death to all faggots. That is all.
@TrevorGoodchild @Rasterman @ChristiJunior @coded_artist I tried reading that book when I was like 18 or 19 and got so disgusted at one scene I threw it away
@TrevorGoodchild @Rasterman @coded_artist I've read American Psycho, some of those chapters are tough going even for me.
@ChristiJunior @Rasterman @coded_artist Gorn doesn't bother me in the least but the scene with the kid at the zoo did make me want to throw Ellis off of a rooftop
And Hog was a sci-fi award winner. Every "must read" book from the last 50 years should be synonymous with author arrest lists.

@TrevorGoodchild @ChristiJunior @Rasterman @coded_artist I don’t really know why guys on “this side” like American Psycho…

@Sweetie_Squad_Liquidator @ChristiJunior @Rasterman @coded_artist @TrevorGoodchild i get hating women but Bateman is too much! :meowHmpf: (never seen the movie or read the book, just synopsi)

@coded_artist I remember that character. I never went back to give them their tools so I don't know what those people were about.

Goodness, that design. I didn't need to see it again. :dead:
@coded_artist Disgusting if true. I think I left a quest hanging, so that might have lead to more quests I missed.
