Also if you didn't have to use a VCR late at night to record anime to watch it later and then had to have awkward conversations with your parents about what you were recording then you are a child and know nothing of what it is to be a true anime fan.

Excel Saga was brilliant. I also think a lot of it comes from the fact that a lot of people weren't actually around for those times and instead watched that stuff later in life.
