Guys, guys omgosh, guys! I need to get this off my chest. Pun intended. We have a newish patient that has the freakiest visitors. Absolute methaholics. So last night his brother fresh out of prison visits him. Guy is cholo'd out and covered in prison tats. He starts following me around asking questions about his brother. Then he blurts out he just got out of the hospital yesterday. Said he left AMA with a catheter in. I look down at his cholo chino shorts and don't see a Foley bag. I inquire how he removed the catheter and he said he didn't. That he cut the tubing with scissors. Long story short, this freshly released vato is walking around with a catheter tube hanging out of his dick. I urged him to go to the ER to have it removed before he gets an infection. He said he was going to get it out later and that he already tried loosening it with mineral oil. Wtf. I explained to him that he needed medical intervention because he cut the tubing that had the balloon port. The actual part that is used to inflate and deflate the fricking balloon!!!
