Throwback Thursday.
Remember when olestra (a fat substitute) was approved by the FDA in 1996?
It was never banned, but products containing it were discontinued.
Olestra is a kind of oil your body doesn't digest, so it comes out same form it came in, causing anal leakage.
Word got around pretty quick, as young women wanting to "eat healthy" started shitting themselves.
Sales went down the shitter after the patent expired (originally patented by P&G), and sales declined into oblivion.
Fun times.
Kinda crazy how this was scrubbed so hard off of the large social networks.
CNN even replaced the clip (which is the first search result on YouTube) to cover this up.
I always joked about this, but with people getting wacked, and now finding out about the censorship, there may be more to this.
I draw, code, and make memes sometimes.
