@VD15 it's not a coincidence that 1984, Brave New World, and other famous dystopias were written in Britain. They don't describe the dangers of totalitarism, not even the slightest. They describe Brits and unfathomable lust for the boot.
american judges using ai to invent justifications for rulings is fascinating to me. these are enforced orders that get applied, based on literally nothing but hallucinations

theoretically, this de jure is grounds for impeachment and removal. but this would require 1/2 from house and 2/3rds from senate to impeach and remove a federal judge. de facto, there is zero consequences for any judge to literally just make shit up and force people to do whatever.

the american judicial system cannot and will not survive AI. whole thing will have to be rewritten from the ground up. simultaneously, there exists no political will to do what is necessary to survive AI, so you can consider AI a leading factor towards the end of the american system of governance. there is no longer "law," there is "will to act."

the catastrophic incompetence of the judiciary is going to be a major factor towards the upcoming civil war/balkanization/reconquista.
