The Pentagon is planning for a "wider war" and has been increasing the number of military aircraft deployed to the region, according to WaPo, citing a U.S. official.
➡️ The official said any expansion of U.S. operations would be constrained by dwindling stockpiles of air defense and long-range munitions, as well as limits on the military's ability to surge additional troops and aircraft into the region due to battle damage.
"We do not have enough to safely sustain operations, and I don't think the White House is aware of that," the official said.
