my issues with gab are with the site itself. My only issue with the staff is in which they way they run the site is in conflict with the site's stated goal.
@featherFag They've got all kinds of issues, a lot of people in this corner of Fedi have a personal hate boner against them. I don't go that far but it's an annoying site to be on for sure.
@shampoobottle The site doesn't federate properly anywhere. I get the feeling that they just dropped onto a open source codebase so they could steal patches while they worked on other shit.
@featherFag Rob's stated reason for doing it at one point was making them harder to deplatform, and that's what I think the reason is. Gab actively censors the vast majority of instances that still federated them with them to some degree. They make no attempt to have their unique features federate at all, and with no transparency. They clearly don't care.
I'm normally not pro censorship of anything legal but I completely understand instances refusing to federate with Gab, there are some good people on there but for the most part all they do is spam the network.
