@beardalaxy it’s a little… floody… in California right now, so it’d be nice to have a break
I'm playing The Division 2 again because the expansion I never bought/played went on sale for 9 bucks. I love the attention to detail on the guns. The team that works on them really knows their guns and cared about getting the details right.
For instance, the M16A1 fires 3 round bursts. Typically you load a 30 round magazine. If you reload without emptying the gun, you have 31 rounds (30 + 1 in the chamber). Since you fire in 3 round bursts though, your 11th pull of the trigger is one round. The game perfectly captured the sound of an AR hammer hitting on an empty chamber and they used that for that situation. They could have used some stupid thud noise and most people wouldn't even notice. Hell, they could have just left it out.
Anyhow, lots of the gun stuff is like that, and I really like that part of it. It's one of the charms that keeps it from just being Ubisoft Third Person Looter Shooter #22.
This very closely matches my feelings on Darktide
@beardalaxy a Jester class clearly need some skill called Jester's Privilege
@beardalaxy I hadn’t heard of it, no. I’ll stick it in the queue to check out after this. Thanks for the recommendation.
Chained Echos is really good. It takes what was good about SNES-era JRPGs and puts just enough modern twist on it. I'm about 3 hours in and really enjoying it. There have been several deliberate nods to Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6. Totally worth 25 bucks and it supports a super small team.
