@wolfie wait wait wait GOG is property of CDProjectRed?
boy, it has been a good week for them
@hideki Oh, you didn’t know that? Yeah, GoG is a wholly owned part of CDPR. As far as I know, it was started in no small part so they could be their own distributors.
Personally, GoG has been on my “do not support” list for years due to their refusal to create a Linux client, despite it being overwhelming the most requested feature for Galaxy (and them promising to do so in the past) and then later mocking people on twitter wanting it
@coyote @hideki They decided not to carry a game on GoG due to supposed “feed back from gamers”. However, the idea that the feed back in question was anything but pro-CCP trolls is absurd as there is no reason for anyone else to object to it.
Plus, they didn’t want to get removed from China like Steam did (or did for a while) over it. In other words, they caved just like the NBA and several others
@hideki Agreed. Bowing to the CCP or their proverbial foot soldiers will land a company on my reject list for a long long time, if not permanently. Perhaps now we can dispose of the idea that CDProjectRed is really that different than any other company
