I tried to use Linux for a very long time, but it always performed poorer than Windows 7
@hideki under low memory situations it's definitely worse than windows, otherwise about the same for me unless it has something to do with graphics
@hideki well I meant low memory as in free low memory, but at 4gb you would constantly be filling all of that up with just a browser and a few other programs, not a surprise that windows would perform better there
@orekix that's the thing, i always used the same combination of software in both systems, and typically used distros that advertise to work well on older hardware (lubuntu, bodhi and the likes).
In some places i had read that Linux just didn't liked my kind of chipset and blamed it to lack of support from the maker (AMD)
