What if we built an emulator for a console that never existed?

Like we'd design the console but instead of building it physically, we build an emulator for it.

Imagine then creating games for that emulator. And keep everything secret. Then upload the game dumps on some warez site, and release the emulator pretending it was a well known machine. And have people from inside pretend they grew up with that machine and be like "oh heck yeah, it was about time we got an emulator for this!" as if it was a real thing.
