I’ve played more Quake and Unreal in the past 5 years than any game released after 2000 lol

@ademan with bots? or online? i've heard online of both of them are pretty brutal nowadays.

Both singleplayer. Quake has an amazing singleplayer mod scene right now, thanks in large part to Arcane Dimensions and I had two separate attempts to beat the Unreal campaign recently lol (I don’t know why but the last 1/3 of the game always causes me to turn it off and never come back, even dating back to 1999 or so when I first played it lol) Finally beat it this year.

@ademan @hideki Unreal gets too maze-y for me at times. You get used to it but I still haven't finished the whole campaign either lol.

to be fair, my first play through in ~1999 was torpedoed by a hard drive reformat, so my second play through was kind of frustrating, and I think it established the pattern for the rest of my attempts in the ensuing 2 decades lol

@ademan @hideki it's one of those games where I know the intro really well from multiple playthroughs but I lose patience around the halfway point.
