@igeljaeger @roka @a_cat @JuliaMae @nepfag @sjw You run your own personal instance though, right? It's unlikely smaller <10 person instances will make it to the big block lists unless you are a super shitposter.
It is interesting that none of these people can actually see the criticism or comments about their statuses or instances. It's like an implicit substatus/subtoot by the instance admins.
@sjw @igeljaeger @nepfag @JuliaMae @a_cat @roka I remember when Reddit and other's banned jailbait content. Part of it is being safe for advertisers since you need to make revenue when you're that big to stay afloat. Bigger sites do have more sway; it's more dangerous as a smaller site. If the US ever follows the UK/AU in fictional works being obscenity, there are a lot of instance owners that will need to purge content pretty quickly to avoid legal issues.
@sjw @igeljaeger @nepfag @JuliaMae @a_cat @roka You're still subject to the laws of your own country, and you're usually also subject to the laws of the country you host in. Kim Dotcom, a German citizen, is facing extradition to the US, a country he has never set foot in, from New Zealand, a country where what he did isn't a crime. He had American servers though, all of which were confiscated. NZ illegally spied on him, so they amended the GCSB laws retroactively to make that spying legal.
