@matrix Plemora is up and running locally, although still in a fresh state
the biggest hurdle is that I'm still waiting for my domain... I've paid, but the contract is in a locked state, whatever that means... IONOS knowledge base says nothing about it, so I'm in the blind :/
if I don't get the domain tomorrow, I'll try GoDaddy or some other registrar
(I don't know much about how domain registration works, but a four day wait is definitely fishy)

but yeah, the server side of things is working fine so far... I'll probably do certificates, https and basic cybersec next, which will probably be a pain, since I've never ran a server

Ok. That's weird. What domain registrar are you using? I use Namecheap and I had mine in minutes.
The biggest pain in the ass for me was making Google mail accept my mails.

@matrix 1&1 IONOS, that was probably a mistake
reddit said Namecheap is great too, I'm gonna try that right now after I cancel my contracts

maybe I'm stretching things but the issue might have been that I choose Serbia as my country because Slovakia wasn't on the picker list (along with most of EU) and that didn't match my card data... I don't know
@matrix ok... just searched for them as "1&1" and everyone's shitting on their shady practices and saying "avoid like plague"
no wonder I didn't find anything bad before... they were just named 1&1 for years and merged with IONOS only last month, so just searching for IONOS told me next to nothing
I should be more careful next time :|

@grips
I think it shouldn't be an issue. If it was it wouldn't process the payment.
