Strawman argument about a shit that never happened.

@policeinchains
The character on the left is from a comic that's literally what I described.

@matrix This is a 50 minutes videos responding to a comic how long again?

@policeinchains
The comic has been going for a while. How does the length of the video mean anything? A simple sentence can have deep meaning and several connotations that can be discussed for minutes.

@matrix Yes. Also talking about short comics for an hour guarantees you won't have anything worthwhile to say in the end.

@matrix Tell me honestly, have you read any of this comics or are you running withwhat this *too cool for content warnings douche* told you xD

@policeinchains
Yes, but the Assigned Male website doesn't have them and archive.org takes forever to load.

@matrix Trans people are literally subject to violence. Making a meme out of it makes as much sense as a creationist community making a meme out of "missing link".

@policeinchains
I'm gonna go through them in a moment. My question is how many of them were motivated by the victim being trans?

@policeinchains
Most of these are still under investigation, some don't even have a suspect and motive is stated only once. This article is just fear mongering and gives no proof they died, because they were trans.

@matrix This article explains in first paragraph that some of these murders have a clear bias. Finding proof in not yet ended investigations is not their job. You don't think %23 of trans murders taking place in same place is random?

@matrix You will need institutional access tho. channel4.com/news/factcheck/fa
Here in the passing gives numbers

"On that basis, we calculate that the police recorded 545 violent hate crimes against trans people in England and Wales in 2017-18. Of those, 149 crimes resulted in injury."

@policeinchains
This article doesn't really enforce your case: "The limited data we’re working with suggests that in the UK at least, a trans person is less likely to be murdered than the average person."

@policeinchains
I have.
"Until we have those official statistics, we should handle the data we do have with care.  Anyone that tells you this is clear-cut – on either side of this often vexed debate – is wrong."

@matrix
"But itâs worth bearing in mind that the recorded number of trans murder victims is so small that it would only take one or two more murder cases every year for the UK âtrans murder rateâ to double or triple."

"According to the latest Home Office figures, police recorded 1,651 hate crime offences against trans people in England and Wales in 2017-18. Nine per cent involved âviolence against the person with injuryâ and a further 24 per cent involved âviolence against the person without injuryâ."

"On that basis, we calculate that the police recorded 545 violent hate crimes against trans people in England and Wales in 2017-18. Of those, 149 crimes resulted in injury."

@policeinchains @matrix
And a polandball comic for good measure. I can see what was attempted your strawman comic.

@policeinchains
While it's weird there's no indication that it's transphobia.

@matrix Okay, it's hard to prove murder. Let's look at violent hate crime.

@matrix Murder investigations don't usually close that fast and police even today fuck up classifying trans people, i can't find statistics of murder for further past for that.

@policeinchains @matrix
The only statistics about LGBT crime I could find this quickly was a list of gay serial killers.
