@ink_slinger Wouldn't normal bikes be even better for the environment?
@matrix I'm also pretty sure that most e-bikes can be used as a regular bike, as well, so the motor doesn't need to be constantly running (and, I think, manual peddling helps recharge the battery).
@matrix In my grocery store example, I'd probably pedal manually on the way there and then use the motor on the way back home.
@matrix Yes. The advantage of an e-bike is that it can make going longer distances and/or uphills easier, especially for people who aren't super fit, allowing it to replace a car for many trips.
For example, if I got a cargo bike that is electric, I could use it for bigger grocery trips (for example) that would normally require a car, because the motor would make it so I could handle the added weight without issue.
