They get temporary happiness when they "achieve" what the media and their toxic social group tell them should make them happy, but then as the years go by they slide into the abyss because it didn't actually bring them happiness at all, and they ruined their lives for a lie.

If you're citing the Swedish study, you are wrong. The study is fairly old and that figure is suicide attempts.
