I would say it's still fake, because it is based on a troll, the symbol actually has no meaning outside of ok, and most people doing it either have no clue about it or aren't alt-right and are doing it as a troll.
@matrix ive seen enough alt right people do it now that arguably it's taken on that meaning now, similar to how hillary clinton successfully made pepe the frog into an alt-right symbol by publicizing it
