@nerthos @matrix To be fair, we can't actually prove it's true, it's still only a theory

I also kind of don't understand why it matters if it's real or not, your genetics don't really rule you as much as your own mentality does or the things you are taught at a young age

People are better off arguing that genetics only go so far in determining a person rather than just saying that genetics don't apply but I think these people are denying it more as a method of transcendence rather than making any kind of meaningful case for the nature of human beings
@Majkatsu @matrix The issue is not so much with liking a theory or not as it is with zealous enforcement of personal opinions.

Do I care if tranny cultists think that evolution is dumb and biology magically sidesteps humanity? not at all.

Do I care if they hold rallies, annoy everyone, and violently try to stop schools from teaching scientific theory and the methods by which one can objectively determine or predict outcomes within the framework of the physical world? Yes. Doubly so being a teacher and a technician/engineer myself.

You can make many arguments about the topic from a metaphysical standpoint, but you have to acknowledge that field is -way- beyond anything the kind of individual that screeches about biology can reasonably be expected to understand. Their entire interest in it is retaining VIP status and not having to deal with evidence, and it's impossible to have any respect for that. We aren't talking about trascendental beings, we're talking about mobs of zombies out of crappy social sciences colleges. The reasonable position towards the topic is open disdain and mockery, like it was with the creationists 20 years ago.
@nerthos @matrix I mean all of that stuff is inherently transcendental regardless if they understand truly what that means

It doesn't really take much thought to understand the main idea of what that kind of person would believe, they may lack the insight to understand exactly why but all they need is "I don't have to deal with the things I don't want to deal with" which is the main appeal to Marxist ideology and at the most basic level, the idea of what transcendentalism is

Both the rallying and the idealism of their beliefs are linked and you'd do well to consider it as a whole rather than just people screeching or you're gonna learn it the hard way if you just dismiss only one of them
@Majkatsu @matrix Oh, no, I absolutely understand, I still consider them insufferable and will fight them at every opportunity.

I very much like scientific advancement and would love to bring back the breakneck pace that field had in the XIX and early XX century when the goal was technological supremacy and feelings were an afterthought. So these "people" need to go. The future of adventure and enterprising spirit is space, and the sooner we get there the sooner all of this will be a non-issue.

As I see it, the way to deal with these cultist types is to double down on everything they dislike until it's unbearable to them, they can't handle clashing against a cold and uncaring wall of dismissal.
@nerthos @matrix Well, nobody will ever double down on it because a few sentences is enough to seem complicit in political endeavors as a corporate entity and that means you won't lose that demographic, the demographic which controls most media and will bully people into accepting that demographic (sometimes by actual governments themselves) and therefore helping your marketshare by doing nothing at all

It's a lot easier to change your logo to a rainbow flag for a month than invest in space flight that will probably not return your money in your lifetime and because as far as we all know, you can't take that shit with you

Even when advancement was at it's height, it was more so in aid of blowing the shit out of the other people the government doesn't like, the only time in which scientists were not at the bid of some higher power was probably during the Renaissance but even then they were already wealthy and therefore didn't have to care, or were actually employed by a patron and weren't actually independent anyway

Basically, this shit has been kinda fucked for years and it's only really been compounded in this modern era
@Majkatsu @matrix Hence why I want a return to the era of "design better cannons", I'm really tired of having to put up with stuff that doesn't concern me at all, and who'll put up rainbow flags in the trenches? I'd rather coexist, but they make it impossible, so a plunge into a social condition where the annoying individuals are exterminated is the next best thing. They'll have only themselves to blame.

My point was originally "damn, still at it with this cultist crap?" but I guess every road leads to genocide.

I'm never going to take the doomer route and just give up and accept it's the way things are though, better dead than red.
[HorribleSubs] Gugure! Kokkuri-â¦
@nerthos @matrix Unfortunately, genocide will never kill an idea and regardless if they planned for it to be this way or not, the more you suppress people for ideas they subscribe to the more you empower them

The underdog is just the one who is getting put under the boot the most, they need no other righteousness to compel them despite how much people romanticize the idea of rebellion and uprising

Politics have evolved into an open discussion far removed from the days of divine right to rule, and therefore both an arena and a trap for people who want change

The left claims foul of those who don't agree, and so the right rebels as if they are the ones under the boot themselves which will only ever result in people becoming the monsters they were always accused of and it's a very, very smart trick

You don't have to be a doomer and give up to remove yourself from it, just like when you see two people slapping each other in public over something stupid while they happen to be in your way, you can just walk around it all and find a different path
@Majkatsu @matrix In my personal life I am removed from it, sure, but I'd like my species to be something more. No patience to play games below me though.
@Majkatsu @matrix This conversation veered off really far anyway, and it's too early for me to be in the mood for it, so I'm dropping off it in any case.
