So I selected Philosophy of science as my humanities class without looking into the professor.
Well I just found out that he used to teach my mom and mainly that he wrote a lot about Locke. So I'm guessing the "Have you read Locke?" meme is going to be a thing IRL.
He's also probably senile.
A teaching career peaks when you get university classes on the topics you really enjoy talking about, more so if you like stuff like philosophy where you can reasonably give a different class each time. You're basically paid for talking about the stuff you like.
Retiring from those classes doesn't make sense, unless the university goes down the drain. In your 80s and 90s they're even a part of keeping your health up, as they provide a sure and easy way to exercise the brain regularly. When you're that old and don't stay active, your brain starts shutting down.
