Tbh, I can't fault 'em - people have done crazier things for love, and if they're both actually happy, there's nothing wrong there.

But even if they're not, there is this underlying hatred-of-the-self in modern Americana/westernEU that's very new and ideological. Especially if you're privileged" .. you're not allowed to have opinions unless you win some victimhood competition. I think you can see some of that in this mentality -- the idea that it's better to be "the other" ...
