Important to note a few details here
1) Our subscription features does **not** circumvent privacy features. It will only show you posts you hae access to view, anything set private will not be able to be seen by the user
2) Mastodon already has RSS feeds built into each user. Following a users RSS feed gives the **exact** same result as our subscription feature, it just lets you do it in the client
3) The user agent spoofing appears to only be done with mstdn.jp and no other instances. IT was pulled in when I picked up the pull request from the **official** mastodon repo, it was part of the changes for enabling groups. I will investigate and have no objection to removing that spoofing once I understand why the official repo added it.
4) We absolutely do ban users and even block other instances. We explicitly state as much in our rules page and outline when and why (including sexism and racism). We even list a few blocked instances.

If i were blocked I wouldnt see the post, so at worst silenced.
But the OP isnt really the person i was commenting for. This way anyone who sees the post and may consider blocking us can also see my reply (even if the OP cant) and therefore can judge for themselves what to think.
