@kravietz Yeah, it's probably better to keep WW2 ideologies in WW2, but I do think that China is fairly close to it.
@matrix Yeah, social sciences have a huge deficit of creativity as it comes to naming things :) It's like people in microbiology called every single infectious thing a "virus" just because it sounds evil, regardless of whether it's single-cellular, multi-cellular, has RNA or maybe is just a poisonous inorganic substance.
BTW I posted it only because there's a whole lot of shitstorm on Twitter now on "look how effectively communist China contained the pandemics and even helping CAPITALIST West hurr-durr" 🤦♂️

Authoritarian or totalitarian - yes, absolutely.
I don't like the word "fascism" as it's quite meaningless today. Fascism started and ended in WW2 Italy as it was absorbed by German national socialism (Nazism).
