@matrix @mewmew @sjw @sjw It's because it stores all the original AP data and uses that as the SPOT. It's why Pleroma's as general and as flexible as it is, but that's the cost.

@matrix @mewmew @sjw @sjw Seriously, this is the hardest I've ever seen this much hardware chugg nuttz on 35m rows of data. I have other DBs that are super dang massive, but they are not full of JSONB.

Some things are gonna change pretty soon-ish with FSE, hopefully these changes are of use to the broader fediverse but they will at least solve some of my problems.
