@matrix phones have more processor power but are crap in most ways compared to the cell phones of yore. I remember when computers and electronics were built to last. floppy disks from the 80s usually still work fine, but any made post-2000 are about as useful as votes in a presidential election.
@noyoushutthefuckupdad I have button Nokia phones from the early 2000s and those still work, but basically I agree. I wouldn't have a problem with phones not lasting if the flagships weren't like 800 dollars and up.
@matrix in 2050 when I'm showing ancient lost technology to the citizens of my cave, they won't give a shit about some dead iphone that can't be used to cut trees or start fires but they'll be impressed when I use a hand-crank charger to power on a beat-up old Nokia and let them play Snake
