@holot @matrix they achieved it by bundling insane ideas in the center of a thin veneer of fairly reasonable ideas that everyone agrees with. Then they tell people if they believe or want <sane thing>, they have to also believe or accept <insane thing> as an intrinsic part of the bargain.
For instance: "Do you believe that women should get the same pay for doing the same work as men? Good, then you also believe that mtf transgenders should use the same showers at the high school gym as your 14-year-old daughter because you believe they're women" The first statement seems reasonable and fair and a majority of people would agree with it; the second statement is completely unrelated to the first issue and absolutely insane, but if you don't accept the whole bundle, people will paint you as being in disagreement with the first very popular idea instead of disagreeing with only the second very dubious idea.
The answer to this is to simply walk away; when they say "You can't be a feminist unless you're also an intersectionalist" or "You can't be a real environmentalist unless you're also a vegan," you should say, "Fine, i'm not a (whatever) any more," which usually leaves them speechless. But for some reason, people are unwilling to give up these labels even in the face of unreasonable demands.
