One of these days, I willstart a hellthread that tags every user known to this instance and on that day of judgement, all the unworthy instances will be purged from the network.
@matrix I actually don’t know if it’d even work. I think most instances would just drop the message either due to the character limit or the number of tagged users. Unless i can exploit some kind of oversight in mastodon/pleroma’s code and I am nowhere near big-brained enough to pull that off…
@matrix @dirb Well, pleroma has a hard character limit past which it’ll drop posts. Don’t know what the default value is or if most instances even have it enabled. The option is pretty much meant to prevent shit like this from happening.
If it doesn’t work, I could just set up a bot to cycle through a list of known users and string several messages together into one long thread into which everyone will be tagged at some point. I could even combine it with a follow bot of sorts to scout out even more users…

so it didn't trigger the character limit.the only real problem I had is that my instanced tried to reach so many dead instances that the federator choked and only reach a few, but the pleroma ones it reached it took them down. ask hj or lain if they rember :alway-rember:
