Sims 3 > Sims 4

Sucks that DLCs are still so expensive

@matrix Sims 2 > Sims 3 ?

I never played 4; but this one opinion on the Internet discourages me from trying it.
@matrix You never played 2? And here I was thinking I was speaking to a PERSON. :alexjonesyelling2:

@matrix What's it feel like to be so completely incorrect?

Sims 3 was held together with toothpicks and gum wrappers. At least the devs on 4 spent time ensuring that the interactions engine wouldn't crash on you if you installed a mod. Also, it runs like 2x faster than 3, even with a ton of mods installed (that don't crash the engine like they did in 3).

@jasonoliveira
At least Sims 3 felt like a living world. Sims 4 feels like a dollhouse.

@matrix You know that the original working title Will Wright gave to Sims 1 was "Dollhouse" right? Reconcile.

@jasonoliveira @matrix meanwhile the original working title for Sims 3 was ‘Sims 3’

@VD15 @matrix Let's just say the quality of the developers had gone down considerably after 2 when they decided to outsource most of their work to India. It's remarkably similar to how the Planet of the Apes series went downhill after the 1968 original; Every sequel was made with less and less money and resources.

@jasonoliveira
Yeah well, I don't care. I just hate the tiny isolated areas and constant loading times.

@matrix in exchange for those load times, you get a build mode that no longer sucks and can create good buildings with basements and custom roofs, mods to do drugs and produce drugs, Kitchen cabinet designs that aren't retarded for the first time ever, the ability to have 8 levels in your house (4 basements!). Oh, and the traits/attractiveness system in 4 is top-notch, especially if you install tools to edit an individual sim's preferences.

@jasonoliveira
I don't care because I barely used that stuff. Last time I played Sims was like 7 years ago.

@matrix i got both sims 3 and sims 4 now .
i actually had sims 4 in the past but got it for free but then somehow it disappeared from my library 🤷 . at that point i knew i wouldn't bother with the game till it was out on steam.
but i went and got the sims 3 which was already on steam.
and then idk when exactly it was but they released sims 4 on steam as well.
so i went a head and grabbed that as well.

i wonder if the sims 2 and 1 are on steam as well.
might have to grab those eventually to 😆 just so i can have a complete set.
