@matrix @tuxcrafting steam works perfectly well on ubuntu based distros. Tuxy just has autism

@igel @matrix i just missed some fonts, which was fixed by installing steam-fonts from the AUR

Shouldn't that be s dependency that automatically installs itself with Steam?
@igel

@matrix @igel steam is in the community repository and steam-fonts is in the AUR, and main repository packages can't depend on AUR packages due to the way the AUR is handled, so not really

@tuxcrafting
When I add a repo to apt, it just grabs the stuff it needs from other repos, which makes installing stuff easier than even Windows.
What's up with this autism?
@igel

@matrix @tuxcrafting on Pop OS I do sudo apt install steam and everything works. Everything that makes stuff harder than this is a meme to me
@matrix @igel the AUR is basically a ports tree that's technically not even really officially supported by arch and isn't supported by default pacman, so a package in one of the main pacman repos could technically depend on a package only available in the AUR but pacman can't pull it automatically
