There's is one thing that Crytek screwed up in terms of optimization and that is in Crysis 2. They had tessellation applied to some flat surfaces and cranked up ridiculous levels which absolutely tanked performance on AMD GPUs. Huge number of polygons on a flat surface is a Yandaredev level of fuck up.

Well, maybe you are right. Now that I think about it that started with Crysis 2, which means majority of their catalog sucks.
Hunt Showdown is pretty good though.

@matrix Hunt Showdown was a mess when they previewed it which lost them a bunch of prospective sales, just after they degraded themselves to a publisher of shitty Russian P2W shooters and amidst their impending implosion and layoffs iirc. They should have stuck to making a game engine and make it competitive, at least for a few years.
