No, but Android manufacturers are updating their phones more.

@matrix @orekix but also google is making android more modular and easier to update, because before pie every version was a massive update, and now it's tiny updates and feature changes and security updates

@matrix @orekix I do give android credit though, I have a live wallpaper from 2012 and it still works just like it's intended
