I forgot those options exist. What's the performance like? From what I looked at with Starlink, it fluctuates between 20-120Mbps and 30-60ms depending on the satellite, weather etc.
Wireless on the ground faces the same issues, so the only competing point could be the price as Starlink is pretty expensive.
@matrix rural areas in Scotland get decent microwave links across mountain ranges and out into the islands at reasonable costs.
It's not going to be gigabit fiber for each home, but they would be able to compete.
Instead, I think they'd rather play the "unregulated space internet is killing the ability for us to set down hard US infra".
