@matrix Anon here gives them way too much credit. These people operate off the higalian dialectic and as such should *never* be granted any ground. They scream defund the police not because that is what they want but because they want reform such that the police punish their allies less and enemies more. They say minorities can't be racist not because they really think that is true but because they want to force people to accept their false premise of racism and think "in group preference is bad from any group mkay".
In fact the right move is to entirely move in the opposite direction ensuring we take ground from these people and consciously recognize democracy and liberalism are bad insofar as they must be restrained to keep these people from pushing us around. Literally the point of having a republic rather than a democracy. It is wrong to give them any ground in the dialectic, and correct to create a new framing which completely disregards these people as the agents of evil they are.
Seeing now that the post is from 2014 I don't blame anon for not seeing this, and there's a good chance he's realized most of this on his own by now, whether he's put it in words or not.
