The hedonism of wealth is like running on a treadmill. People weren't bored before TVs existed, but today people can't even watch it without being bored and needing to look at their phones. They work more to get less. You need more and more "education" to earn a living wage.
Utilities, medicine, all of it, create dysgenics that lead to their own collapse. You're reliant on a giant system operated by people who hate you and you have no control in or say over.

Nobody is forcing to use a car, you can still walk everywhere like many people did even 100 years ago, but you have to watch as people make your hour long journey in 10 minutes. Same with everything else, phones, internet etc.

Libertarians get that freedom is necessary for happiness, but they put an arbitrarily narrow view on it as "just not coercion". There's no psychological distinction between coercion and being unable to feed yourself, not working both means you get punished and ultimately die.
Modern jobs are basically just instruction following instead of actual physical work. Show up at this time, stand here, do this in this way for 8 hours, go home. It's a complete lack of control
