So much of the bullshit defense of liberalism and modernity is the tut-tut snobbery of saying "nothing is better than anything else, sweatie." The total paralysis of making value judgements and the intentional suppression of anybody saying "things were once better."

Things can be ranked and compared and some things are better than other things. That's how you realize that modernity is shit and there was once a better way of living.
